Kwin was raised as a small-town kid. He grew up doing dirty jobs like chopping wood, shoveling dirt, and picking up roadkill. He was taught that if people place enough work in the right direction–including self-improvement and relationships–they can succeed.
Kwin has worked in a variety of clinical settings including LS Counseling in Wyoming, Utah State Family Clinic, Bear River Mental Health, LDS Family Services, and at the BYU comprehensive clinic.
Kwin received his associate degree from Snow College and bachelor’s degree from USU in Psychology. He earned his master’s and doctorate degrees from USU and BYU in marriage and family therapy. He has published his research in academic journals on how therapy is effective and what makes an effective therapist. He worked as an adjunct professor for BYU and USU teaching family life classes on cultural diversity and adolescent development.
He lives in Franklin, ID with his wife, Megan, and their four children. When he’s not at home with the family he can usually be found working around the farm or cutting firewood. He enjoys basketball, board games, swimming, and tracking anything and everything on spreadsheets.
